The Nature Connection

A fantastic garden book for kids

My daughter and I have been tracking the seasons (also known as engaging in phenology!) and examining nature this year with the help of the book The Nature Connection. It's such a fun family workbook filled with drawing prompts, ideas for bringing nature inside your home and truly exploring your own backyard. Not only does it have ongoing logs where you can record observations throughout the year, but it even has a monthly guide in the back for specific seasonal activities (Northern Hemisphere based) that you can do each month to track the seasons.

For example, there's a geology spread in November where you can go and check out the rocks in your backyard, as well as a sky gazing section, a nature scavenger hunt and more. The outdoor workbook features ways to attract birds to your yard, insect viewing tips, planting ideas and so much more. It would make a wonderful holiday gift for any nature loving families or kids in your life.

Do you use any nature activity books at home? Which ones do you like best?
